Allie's Junior Prom

My baby sister, Allie, attended her Junior Prom this past Friday night and she.looked.GORGEOUS!! It is surreal for me to see her as such a young lady. Al and I are 10 years apart. I was born 5/4/84 at 10:34 p.m. And she was born 8/4/94 at 10:34 a.m. - we both weighed 7lbs 14oz and both were 21 in long. I was 10 yrs. old and I got to hold my mom's hand and watch as she took her first breath of air. I have always felt like she was in a way "my baby". I had my own baby doll in her growing up. I am super protective and probably always will be. She will be 18 soon, and that is CRAZY!! We look identical and have always been a lot alike. She looked amazing Friday and I just had to share. I am so proud of her and can't wait to see what the future holds for her :-) Love you, Al!!!

P.S.- The other beautiful young lady is my little cousin, Hailey :-) Her and Allie are the same age and grade and have grown up together. They both play soccer and are great friends and cousins!

Easter 2012

Well, I can not believe that Easter has already come and gone again!! This year is flying by, and I would like for it to slow down just a little bit. Easter is my second favorite holiday besides Christmas, and I really put a lot of thought into our clothes, activities, and ways to celebrate what Easter is REALLY about. Both my boys (more so Eli) will tell you all about how Jesus was placed on the cross to die for our sins, and how he rose from the dead 3 days later. I love hearing Eli describe this and he tells everyone he can!

Easter Sunday is very traditional for us. This year I had to sing in the early and late services so we did "bunny" stuff very early before I left. Justin go the boys ready and met me at church for Sunday school and late service. My entire family was there and it was a special service with AMAZING music! I had the honor of singing "Revelation song" and every other song our praise team/choir did was so touching. God's presence was so strong.

After church we always go to my grandparents house (Burkeen side) in Portland. They have a huge fArm with cows, horses, fishing pond and just beautiful peaceful scenery. Family pictures are a tradition too :-)

I am so beyond thankful that my amazing Lord paid the price and died for me!! It's something that makes me very emotional to think about and take in. Always remember his sacrifice and suffering!

Here are a few pics ;-)

My Little Hook!

Eli is playing his first season of Dixie Baseball and we are SOOO excited. If you know anything about my family you know that baseball/softball has always played a HUGE part in it. Eli is playing for the "Hooks" and is loving it!! I have to say though having a left-handed son has been throwing this mommy off..lol. They had there first game this past Saturday and WON!! We are so excited for the season and can't wait to watch our sweet boy carry on a family tradition!! He is even wearing his mom's old number! :-) Goooo Hooks!!!

( the blow up Vandy thing is from the Vanderbilt football games and Friday night at opening ceremonies Eli was introduced and got to run through it!! )
